About The Artist

I grew up in Southeastern Michigan in the Historic Village of Romeo. After many years of visiting my in-laws in Kalkaska, Michigan, I started to have an appreciation for the beauty and solitude of Northern Michigan. My love of Photography came from my love of volunteering. In 2013, my husband Ed and I received the “Volunteer of the Year Award” for Southeastern Michigan for our work at the Medilodge Nursing Home in Fort Gratiot, MI. As a volunteer, I was involved with many activities. As part of my yearning to make the residents happy, I would go out and take photographs of their various interests. I would photograph flowers in the garden, birds, beach scenes and any other type of scenic areas. I would then have these photos enlarged and deliver them to the residents to decorate their rooms. Now, my main interest is photographing birds and wildlife. I think the reason why is best summed up by this Karl Lagerfeld quote: “What I like about photographs is that they capture a moment that’s gone forever, impossible to reproduce.”
