Do you have a piece of art sitting in your closet because, well, there is just something about it that isn't right? Maybe only partially finished? You created it yourself and it just didn't turn out as you imagined? Or your mother gave you a piece she did and it isn't what you'd hang on the wall as it is?
Or are you a beginner and simply want to learn to “do” art and experience the creativity and fun? But you want to do works that "have life?"
Noted artist and teacher, Terry Dickinson can help. Using his 50 years of experience, he'll help you understand the underlying art principles that make a composition shine and stand out from the crowd. Then he will provide individualized guidance as you practice these principles.
First, Terry will give you the background and then guide you through an analysis of how you can make your art come alive!
Registrants will participate in a guided art lesson on technique and approaches to art that will be pertinent to all media types. In segment two registrants will work on individual projects of your choice. Terry will provide individual guidance to beginners and veteran artists alike.
Registrants will need to bring all materials - including, the piece to create/modify and the materials needed to work on it. So if it is an oil piece, bring your oils and brushes. If it is acrylics, bring the piece and your acrylic paints and brushes. If it is charcoals, or colored pencil, bring those.
Registrations are limited to 5 people to allow individualized assistance.
This class is open to all ages. It is open at all stages of learning art - beginner to experienced. Registrants only need to be able to remain engaged for the full class period.
