Who knew a hardware store, like McLean’s Ace, is the perfect place for young jewelry makers to load up on tools and supplies? These places are stocked with power drills, pliers, cutters, hack saws, even the copper wire you’ll use in this class to make twisted wire cuffs and rings.
Your jewelry teacher, Betsy Lehndorff, has taught all over the US – Ann Arbor, Milwaukee, Denver, Georgia and Florida. She’s also written about how to make these kinds of cool designs in a national magazine called Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist.
You have to be careful! You’ll be working with a cordless drill, hack saw, vise, mallet and cutters. But help will be available. You’re also welcome to bring along an adult and a snack if you want.
All materials provided.
