Case in point\, her previous single “The Best Worst Thing”\, which opens with the line “I hate that you’ve seen me naked”\, is a firestorm of confessions that you would more likely find in a diary. American Songwriter has praised Day for her “candid lyricism” which recently garnered her a 2nd place win in the International Songwriting Competition (folk/singer-songwriter category). Her new single “Monsters”\, which details the fear and anxiety over a changing relationship through lyrics like “I had a dream I was happy with you… you were down on one knee\, now I’m crying on two”\, further bolsters her reputation for being a raw and honest storyteller. \n  \nThe Georgia-native has been amassing a devoted fan base\, selling out venues like the Troubadour and even catching the attention of GRAMMY-winning artist Kacey Musgraves who handpicked her for a mentorship that led to Day’s festival debut at ACL Fest.
