Rooted in the music and legacy of Django Reinhardt, Djangophonique brings the spirit of the Hot Club revival to life with virtuosic musicianship, lively rhythms, and a fearless creativity that both honors tradition and pushes the style forward. Their music can transport audiences from the energy of a Parisian dance hall to the intimate atmosphere of a listening room, while their shimmering ballads capture the aching nostalgia at the heart of the genre.

Djangophonique has been described by Local Spins as “the cleanest, most genuine manouche jazz that can be heard in Michigan.” Led by guitarist Andrew Brown, a devoted disciple of the style, the group brings together a community of musicians whose playing embodies the agility, passion, and spontaneity that make jazz manouche so captivating.

The ensemble released its debut studio album, Introducing Djangophonique, in 2022, featuring clarinetist Tyler Rindo. The album won Best Jazz Album and the Traditions Award at the WYCE Jammies, where Djangophonique was also honored as Artist of the Year. In 2023, vocalist Katie Lynne joined the group, adding a soulful and evocative dimension to their sound.

Joining Andrew Brown and Katie Lynne are David Bendena on rhythm guitar and Dave Stearns on upright bass, creating a dynamic ensemble that continues to introduce new audiences to the timeless appeal of Django-inspired jazz.
