Great Northern Art Explosion 2024 – Closing Award Ceremony

Join us for the exciting Closing Award Ceremony of the Great Northern Art Explosion on Sunday, September 8th, 2024, at 2:00 PM. The event will be held at 122 Michigan Avenue, Grayling, MI. This celebration will honor exceptional artistic talent with the presentation of both Juror Awards and People’s Choice Awards, recognizing the best pieces from this year’s exhibition.
Juror Awards:
- Jim & Connie Sutika Best of Show – $2,500
- Paddle Hard Award of Excellence – $1,000
- Kirtland Community College Outstanding Achievement – $500
People’s Choice Awards:

Please note that no single artwork will receive more than one award. If a piece is selected for multiple awards, it will receive the highest-value prize, and other awards will be reassigned to deserving artists.
This year’s juror is Amy Vos Dillinger:
Amy Vos Dillinger is an artist and scholar
based in West Michigan. She holds a bache-
lor’s degree in Art History and is presently
completing her Master of Arts degree this
year at Kendall College of Art and Design of
Ferris State University (KCAD) in Visual and
Critical Studies, where she currently works
as an Undergraduate Admissions Counselor.
In this position, she has had the opportunity
to connect and engage with thousands of
creatives of all ages and their art and cham-
pion their talents and passions every day.
Her other professional experiences have
spanned several industries including fine
art, technology, and footwear and apparel,
focusing on the intersection of each with the
visual space.
