About the Band:
StoneFolk is an all-Americana Swamp-Rock band rising from the backroads and waterways of Northwestern Michigan. Born on the run in April 2019, singer/songwriter Aaron Dye and bassist/sousaphonist Kevin LaRose joined forces to embark on a sonic odyssey that defies genres and crosses county lines. By 2021, the group solidified their distinctive sound with the addition of drummer/crooner Skylar Mclain, combining swooning vocals, outrageous dancing sousaphone marches, and tight-knit beats.
Their music draws influences from outlaw-trucker funk, indie-rock, jazz, and R&B, inspired by legends like Little Feat, Gram Parsons and the Fallen Angels, The Wood Brothers, and The Meters. With infectious energy and a one-of-a-kind style, StoneFolk creates a live experience that will have you dancing in the aisles and feeling the rhythm deep in your soul.
